Aerosol-to-Vapor Module
Responding to a customer need for an aerosol collection and concentration system for their chemical sensor, DAS rapidly designed, prototyped, and integrated a novel aerosol collection and concentration system for operation and government testing in less than six (6) months.
Replacing a 22 pound system with a one (1) pound control and collection system, DAS enhanced the system’s sensitivity by more than a 100X continuously and provided the possibility of 1000X enhancement with intermittent operation.
Successful in the first stage of the development, DAS integrated the collection system with the detector by designing a hand-portable, battery powered system capable of detection and operation in the field. Working on a multicompany team, DAS coordinated with the detector manufacturer to design subsystems compatible with their technology. From concept, to prototype, and ultimately manufacturing in less than six (6) months, DAS delivered a large quantity of devices for laboratory and field evaluation by warfighters.
