CBRNE Defense
DAS supports multiple primes in Chemical and Biological Detection Equipment programs. In addition, our expertise in test and evaluation of various CBRNE products has positioned DAS as a leader in technology development and implementation for fielded systems.
DAS has cleared engineers that can rapidly develop capabilities and test complex systems for a multitude of sensing methods, including, spectrometry, chemical, optical and RF-based sensing modalities. In-house facilities and certifications allow the production and characterization of explosives and other chemicals.
Our chemical analysis equipment includes an advanced mass spectrometry system capable of performing trace analyses (ppm, ppb, or below) of samples to evaluate quality, assess characteristics, or detect taggants. RF spectrum analyzers and high sampling rate oscilloscopes allow for the measurement of signals between subsystems or end-item characterization.
Our laboratory facilities include fume hoods, chemical storage and handling, high resolution gravimetric analysis, and handling of chemicals for engineering applications. Staff bring advanced degrees in materials science, physics, chemistry, and engineering together to refine our research and engineering capabilities. Additionally, personnel have supported RDT&E at external labs and government facilities.
