Winning the Program with the Prime contractor in 2018 and continuing today, DAS is responsible for the engineering, system design, and packaging of a confirmatory mass spectrometer for chemical detection in the field. DAS brings systems engineering rigor spanning electrical, mechanical, firmware, and user interfaces to ensure a ruggedized package meeting a variety of end user mission requirements.

DAS is focused on developing the integrated system to meet a broad range of performance specifications including environmental parameters included in MIL-STD 810 G and H along with EMI specifications included in MIL-STD-461. By performing limited testing onsite with early prototypes, DAS ensured the design would pass challenging operational criteria prior to government funded evaluations. The design ruggedized laboratory-grade technology for field applications and augmented the system with customized subsystems for sample collection, storage, and transport. This ongoing program exemplifies DAS’ goal of making critical contributions to critical challenges.
